Without Advanced Pressure Management, the pressure supplied to customers may vary considerably during the day and from day to day. There is the risk that, from time to time, it will fall outside acceptable limits. Low pressure will result in 'no water' complaints and the malfunction of appliances that rely on a certain water pressure to operate, such as some hot water boilers. Pressure which is too high may result in reverberation of pipes, difficulty in maintaining the correct temperature on shower mixer valves, cavitation on water taps and increased risk of bursts in domestic water systems.
