i2O now has 40 systems installed with 10 UK water companies. These include Severn Trent Water, Portsmouth Water, South Staffs Water, Essex & Suffolk Water, Northumbrian Water, United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Three Valleys Water, Southern Water and Thames Water.
The average leakage savings achieved across all these systems is in excess of 20% with respect to more basic fixed outlet pressure management. The average water savings per system is currently running at 48,000 litres/day.
A number of systems were installed with the principle objective of improving customer service. In these cases, pressures at times of peak demand were falling below acceptable levels. The i2O system was able to correct this, thereby ensuring adequate pressures in the network at all times while also bringing down leakage.
The systems have also demonstrated many other benefits such as provision of accurate data in a convenient form over the web, DMA monitoring and condition monitoring of key network assets such as meters and PRVs (pressure reducing valves).
Case studies for Portsmouth Water and Severn Trent are available in the documents section.
