Pressure smoothing - reduction in pressure surges and transients


As well as reducing the overall level of pressure, reducing surges or pressure transients from the network can also significantly reduce the rate of new bursts. Unlike some pressure control systems, such as two stage systems, the i2O system smoothly controls changes in PRV pressure to minimise pressure transients (ref 1).
